• By the end of the lesson, you can apply the correct use of the definite, indefinite, and zero article to exercise 3 and 6 in the book.

• At the end of the lesson, the students practiced with three example sentences using a think-pair-share activity where you could fill in the, a, an, or no article as an answer.

Complete the sentences with a, an, the or nothing:

Articles=lidwoorden

Articles are words used before nouns to define them as specific or unspecific.

There are four options:

• Nothing
  

When to use a, an, the or no article

Zero article

No article is used for general statements. 

Example: 

Water is essential.

Patience is important.

Football is enjoyable.

Exceptions=Uitzonderingen

An hour= wordt uitgesproken als our

A university= wordt uitgesproken als juniversity

Give an example in which you use zero articles.
