For example:

= up, in, under, out, after, etc.

Phrasal verbs can have multiple meanings.
Ex: put down
To place something on the ground.
To humiliate or criticize someone.

Transitive or intransitive?
Transitive: you need something or someone after the verb.
Ex: look up to
to respect or admire
a person
I really look up to.
Intransitive: it stands on it's own.
Ex: grow up
