Elk boek of elke film heeft verschillende thema's. Een thema is een onderwerp wat het boek behandelt. In The Hate U Give zijn dat o.a. deze:

 

• Racism and Police Brutality
• Double Identities
• The Power Of Language
• Community and Loyalty
• The Cycle of Poverty and Crime

Mondeling Engels

De les is ervoor bedoeld om de leerlingen van examenjaar 4 mavo een extra toelichting te geven over hun mondeling SE. Ze krijgen hierdoor een beter beeld what to expect and how to prepare. De hele les duurt circa 30 minutes with interaction via a device.

eerst even checken hoe ver ze zijn. dit geeft eventueel aanleiding om extra aandacht te geven, maar voor nu is het meer even proeven.

• You know the rules to the oral exam
• You know what you are going to talk about during the oral exam.
  
•  You know what you can do to prepare yourself
  
• You know what to do to help yourself during your exam

Rules to the oral exam.

Consists of 4 different parts:

1. Talk about yourself (hobbies, family, job, friends, sport etc.)
2. Talk about your plans for the future (your next education or if you don't have any plans, why  not?)
3. role plays

• You'll have to be able to talk for 5 minutes per subject;
• You don't know which questions you will get;
• Don't talk in Dutch, only in English. Use the commonly used phrases if you're stuck.
