The Romans had the same gods as the Greeks.

  • The did have different names. Ares became Mars for example.
  • The statues kind of looked the same, but...
  • Jupiter was the master of the sky, Neptune ruled the seas, Mars was the god of war, and Venus the god of love.
  • If you wanted something, then you should offer a gift to the gods.

The Roman empire was peaceful for 200 years. This time is called the Pax Romana.

Roman art, theatre and literature were all over the empire. Germanic tribes adopted the Roman way of life. This was called romanisation.
