Today we will look at when to use the present simple or present continuous.

Present simple 

Permanent truths ( Wine contains alcohol.)

Habits (He works in a bank.)

To express the future (The sale starts on Monday.)

Present simple is used for things that happen in

1. General, regularly
2. Now, at the moment
3. Often, much
4. Currently, today

Make a sentence with the present simple.

Present Continuous

Express what is going on at this moment (It is raining.)

For arrangements ( I am going to Dublin next week.)

To express a habit ( She is always complaining.)

Present continuous is used for things that happen

1. Generaly, regularly
2. For habits
3. Currently, today
4. Permanent truths

Make a sentence with the present continuous

Present Simple

Example:

I work at the bank. (Habit)

The sun rises in the east. (express future)

I have a car. (Permanent truth)

Present Continuous

Example:

I am working at the moment. ( at this moment)

We are moving next month. ( arrangement)

His boss is always complaining. (express habit)
