  • Check with the actual person if you're unsure 
  • Check the account, if it looks unsafe, unfollow and report
  • Don't reply to any messages from people you don't know

  • When a pedophile messages a young person over the internet, typically on a fake account, to "be their friend"
  • The person is overly nice
  • To meet up in person with intention of committing a crime

  • Gaining access - gain trust through attention, compliments or gifts
  • Trust development - Consistency in the above
  • CSE risk - exposure to sexual content/acts 
  • Maintaining control - use of blackmail/shame/guilt to use against them
