Past Simple 
Hoe maak je de Past Simple: ww+ed (bij alle personen)

  • He walked to school yesterday.
  • They walked to school yesterday.

  • Bij ww zoals 'live'  verdwijnt de 'e',    He lived here when he was 6 years old.
  • Bij ww met medeklinker + y : try, He tried to fix the bike yesterday. (He played football yesterday.)
  • Bij ww met één klinker en medeklinker, verdubbel je de medeklinker: He stopped the video yesterday.

Past Simple Irregular Verbs
  • Let Op! 
  • Er zijn ook werkwoorden die deze regel niet volgen. Dit zijn de zogenaamde on-regel-matige werkwoorden (in English: irregular verbs).
  • De verleden tijd van deze werkwoorden moet je apart leren.
  • Voorbeelden zijn: 
  • to be       >>> past simple = was/were    (I was late yesterday. We were on time.)
  • to swim >>> past simple = swam            (You swam across the channel last summer.)
  • to do       >>> past simple = did                  (They did all their homework a week ago.)
