Grammar: relative pronouns
Quick overview:

- betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Relative pronouns
Verwijzing naar personen --> who / that

  • This is the man who / that I was talking about.
  • There were a couple of children who / that didn't like the idea.

  • Our neighbours, who own a red car, are very nice.

Slide 6 - Diapositive

Relative pronouns
Na voorzetsel --> whom

  • Your sister, for whom you bought this present, is a nice girl.
  • These are the people, with whom they organised that party.

  • Your sister, who you bought this present for, is a nice girl.

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Relative pronouns
Verwijzing naar dieren of dingen --> which / that

  • That is the movie which / that I saw when I was on vacation.
  • This is still his first car which / that he bought when he turned 18.

  • The books, which are on the table, have been read by this class.

Slide 8 - Diapositive

  • The house, whose windows were broken, is my uncle's.

Slide 9 - Diapositive
